Mounting an access-control reader on a tempered glass door requires a no-drill approach because drilling tempered glass causes catastrophic shattering — the glass is under permanent compressive stress and disintegrates on penetration. We install commercially via authorised UAE channels for hardware including HID Signo with glass-mount kit, Salto XS4 glass brackets, ZKTeco glass-mount accessories and Suprema BioStation glass-bracket assemblies. Cable routing on glass doors uses surface trunking, top-of-door cable transitions or door-loop conduits — we do not drill the glass for cable entry. Suction-mount fixtures are used only for temporary demonstration or commissioning checks, never for production installations. 3M VHB acrylic foam tape rated for UAE summer surface temperatures above 55°C with verified manufacturer specifications. Provides permanent structural bond on cleaned glass surfaces with cure time of 24-72 hours for full strength under coastal humidity and salt-spray conditions.
Mechanical edge-grip clamps with EPDM rubber gaskets that secure to the glass edge without penetration. Suitable for 8mm to 12mm tempered glass thicknesses. Removable for maintenance access and reusable across boardroom, retail and lobby fitments.

Hardware and Environment
UAE summer surface temperatures on glass exposed to direct sun routinely exceed 55°C. We specify only adhesive grades with manufacturer-verified temperature ratings for sustained high-heat performance, avoiding standard double-sided tapes that creep, yellow and release under tropical conditions.
Abu Dhabi coastal sites experience high humidity and salt-spray exposure. Glass clamps use marine-grade stainless steel and EPDM gaskets resistant to salt corrosion. Adhesive selections account for moisture vapour transmission and edge-seal integrity over multi-year service life.
HID Signo glass-mount kit, Salto XS4 glass brackets, ZKTeco glass-mount accessories and Suprema BioStation glass-bracket assemblies are installed via authorised UAE channels. We do not stock or distribute these brands — we install them commercially with manufacturer documentation.
Cable transitions use surface trunking, top-of-door routing or armoured door-loop conduits. We do not drill the glass for cable entry. Cable colour matches frame or door profile where possible and exit-button wiring follows the same no-drill discipline as the reader itself.

No. Tempered glass is under permanent compressive stress and shatters catastrophically on penetration. We never drill tempered glass. All glass-door reader mounting uses adhesive, mechanical clamp or manufacturer glass-mount kits. Drilling can only be performed before tempering by the glass manufacturer, not after installation.
Manufacturer-rated 3M VHB grades intended for high-heat exposure provide multi-year structural bonds when applied to correctly cleaned glass with appropriate primer and full cure time. We verify the temperature specification against actual logged surface temperatures at your installation point, which can exceed 55°C on direct-sun glazing.

Properly specified glass clamps with EPDM rubber gaskets and marine-grade stainless steel do not damage the glass edge under normal use. They distribute clamping load through the gasket and are designed for the glass thickness range. Visual inspection during preventative maintenance confirms gasket condition and edge integrity.
