What lighting, socket and switch work does Emirtech carry out?
Lighting, sockets and switches are the everyday electrical work a property needs most — and the work where shortcuts show up fastest: undersized cable, unbalanced circuits or no testing. Our scope covers interior lighting (downlights, linear and cove lighting, chandeliers and feature fittings), exterior and landscape lighting, industrial high-bay and floodlighting, and emergency and exit lighting where specified; additional 13 A socket outlets and dedicated circuits for appliances such as ovens, water heaters, washing machines and pool pumps; and switch, dimmer and controller replacement — from simple plate upgrades to smart lighting control and KNX scene control where the client wants it. Every added circuit is sized to the load, run in the correct cable and containment, protected by the right MCB and RCD/RCBO at the distribution board, and tested before handover. We work to a tidy standard: cable concealed in conduit or trunking, plates level and consistent, and lamps and drivers matched so lighting does not flicker or fail early. Scope — what we deliver and explicitly do not
Lighting and small-power work is routine, but it still has boundaries. We are clear about what we install and where regulated scope begins.
- We deliver: interior, exterior and industrial lighting installation, additional sockets and dedicated appliance circuits, switch/dimmer/controller upgrades, smart-lighting and KNX integration where specified, correct circuit protection at the board, and inspection and testing with documented results.
- We do not deliver: fire-alarm system design and commissioning (that sits with an ADCD-certified provider), works on the utility network upstream of the point of supply, metering, and stamped lighting or MEP design drawings.
- We are not: a chartered engineering consultancy, a Society of Engineers member firm, ADCD-certified for fire systems, or the distribution company. Our ADMCC approval covers security systems work only; it is not an electrical utility authorisation.
- We are not affiliated with: ADDC, AADC, TAQA, the Department of Energy Abu Dhabi, ADCD, or any main contractor or consultancy.
- Our electrical work is delivered in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Electrical installation in Dubai is carried out by DEWA-licensed contractors; Emirtech is not DEWA-licensed, so we do not take that work in Dubai. For the technology side of a Dubai project (IT, networking and smart home, with SIRA-regulated CCTV handled by a SIRA-licensed contractor of the client's choosing) we can help, and we coordinate with your appointed electrical contractor. We do not mobilise to Sharjah or the Northern Emirates.
- Emergency and exit lighting we install where specified, but statutory fire-alarm and life-safety design and commissioning sit with an ADCD-certified provider — we say so before quoting.

FAQs
Can you add extra power sockets to an existing room?
Yes. We add 13 A socket outlets by spurring from a suitable circuit or running a new dedicated circuit where the load requires it, in concealed conduit or neat trunking, protected by the correct device at the board and tested before handover. Do you install smart lighting and dimmers?
Yes — from simple dimmer plates to full smart lighting and KNX scene control. We match dimmers to the lamp and driver type so lighting dims smoothly without flicker or buzz, and we can integrate lighting with the wider smart-home system where the client wants it.
Why do my LED lights flicker or fail early?
Usually a mismatch between the lamp, the driver and the dimmer, an overloaded or poorly terminated circuit, or low-quality fittings. We diagnose the cause, correct the circuit or replace the mismatched components, and test the result — rather than just swapping lamps repeatedly.
Can you do garden lighting installation and other outdoor lighting, including pool areas?
Yes. Outdoor, garden, façade and pool-area lighting uses correctly rated IP fittings and weatherproof terminations suited to UAE heat, dust and humidity. Pool and water-feature lighting is installed to the appropriate protective and bonding requirements.
Do you cover industrial and warehouse lighting?
Yes — high-bay, floodlighting and warehouse lighting for units in Mussafah, ICAD and KEZAD, sized for the floor area and mounting height, on correctly protected circuits with balanced loading on three-phase boards.
Do you install ceiling fans and light fittings?

How much does socket installation cost in Abu Dhabi?
A new socket spurred from an existing circuit costs less than a new dedicated circuit, and the price also depends on the cable route and finish. We quote after a short survey; indicative ranges are in the electrician cost guide.
Which areas do you cover?
Our electrical work is delivered in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain — the city districts, Mussafah, ICAD, KEZAD, the villa communities (Khalifa City, MBZ City, Al Shamkha, Yas, Saadiyat, Al Reef), and Al Ain districts. Electrical installation in Dubai is carried out by DEWA-licensed contractors; Emirtech is not DEWA-licensed, so we do not take that work in Dubai. For the technology side of a Dubai project (IT, networking and smart home, with SIRA-regulated CCTV handled by a SIRA-licensed contractor of the client's choosing) we can help, and we coordinate with your appointed electrical contractor.
