Hardware sizing, networking & storage for virtualization
A virtualization project succeeds or fails at the infrastructure layer long before the hypervisor is installed. Emirtech addresses the three foundations — compute, networking and storage — as an integrated design rather than treating them in isolation.
Compute sizing: Emirtech calculates vCPU-to-pCPU ratios, RAM headroom for HA failover capacity and the effect of memory ballooning under peak load. Host servers are selected and specified to run the intended VM count with realistic headroom, not just the minimum.
Networking: Virtual switches, VLANs for VM isolation, dedicated management networks and, where required, 10 GbE uplinks for storage traffic are all configured as part of the virtualization design. Emirtech's networking experience — covering structured cabling, managed switches and firewalls — means this layer is handled correctly from day one. See our wider server and IT infrastructure services for the full infrastructure context.
Storage: Whether the environment calls for local NVMe datastores, a shared NAS over NFS/SMB, an iSCSI SAN or Nutanix's internal distributed storage, Emirtech integrates storage correctly into the hypervisor layer — with thin provisioning, snapshot scheduling and replication configured before the first production VM is moved across.

- Workload assessment — CPU, RAM, storage IOPS and growth profiling before any hardware is specified
- Host server sizing with HA failover headroom built in from the start
- Virtual networking — VLANs, virtual switches, dedicated management & storage traffic separation
- Shared storage integration — NAS (NFS/SMB), iSCSI SAN or Nutanix distributed storage
- VM-level backup with Veeam or native snapshots, off-site replication and restore testing
- Full documentation, handover and an AMC option for ongoing monitoring and patching
