AI Video Analytics & Smart CCTV

Turn your cameras into proactive sensors. Emirtech adds AI video analytics — face recognition, licence-plate reading, people counting and intrusion alerts — to your CCTV system.

ADMCC-approved (security systems) In-house Engineers Free Site Survey AMC Available

In short: Emirtech adds AI video analytics to CCTV systems in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain: face recognition, licence-plate reading, people counting, intrusion and loitering detection. It surveys the site first to confirm which analytics solve the problem, and tunes the rules on site. It is ADMCC-approved as a security systems company. A site survey or assessment comes first, then a written itemised quotation.

AI video analytics: key facts

Who provides it?Emirtech Technology, based at M44, Mussafah Industrial Area, Abu Dhabi, in operation since 2018. The work is carried out by Emirtech's own engineers.
Where?Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, served from Emirtech's Mussafah, Abu Dhabi base; there is no Al Ain office. In Dubai Emirtech takes only IT AMC and time attendance projects, through scheduled on-site visits.
What is coveredFace recognition, ANPR, people counting, intrusion and loitering detection added to CCTV.
Survey and quotationEmirtech publishes no price list: it surveys or assesses first and then gives a written, itemised quotation.
CredentialsEmirtech is an independent systems integrator. Its only manufacturer-level credential is Authorised Control4 Dealer, and its ADMCC approval covers security systems only, not IT services.
Please noteFace data is biometric personal data under the UAE PDPL, so alternatives can be specified. Emirtech does not certify PDPL compliance.

What is video analytics in CCTV?

Video analytics is AI software, running on the camera or recorder, that automatically interprets what a CCTV feed sees — detecting people, vehicles, faces, number plates and unusual behaviour — and triggers real-time alerts instead of relying on someone watching screens. Emirtech Technology designs and configures AI-powered analytics on Hikvision, Dahua and Axis systems across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, turning passive recording into proactive security designed to ADMCC requirements.

Two architectures deliver this in practice. Edge analytics run directly on the camera's own processor (Hikvision AcuSense/DeepinView, Dahua WizMind and equivalent Axis chipsets all include this), classifying objects locally before the alert is sent — this keeps bandwidth low and works even if the NVR is briefly offline. Server-side analytics run on the recorder or a dedicated VMS server, pooling processing power across many cameras at once, which suits sites needing cross-camera correlation (tracking one vehicle or person across multiple views) or older cameras that lack an onboard AI chip. Emirtech assesses which model fits your existing hardware and site layout during the free survey, rather than defaulting to one approach.

AI features

Video analytics capabilities we deploy

Face Recognition

Identify or verify individuals and trigger watch-list alerts. Works by comparing a live facial vector against an enrolled database — accuracy depends heavily on camera angle, distance and lighting, which Emirtech accounts for at the design stage rather than after installation.

ANPR / Licence Plate

Automatic number-plate recognition for gates, car parks and access. A dedicated ANPR camera (not a general CCTV lens) reads plates at vehicle speed and can auto-open a barrier, log entry/exit times, or flag a blocklisted plate to the gatehouse.

People Counting

Footfall and occupancy analytics for retail and facilities. Cameras mounted overhead at entrances count bidirectional traffic (accuracy drops in dense crowds), feeding hourly/daily footfall reports rather than a single point-in-time headcount.

Intrusion & Line Crossing

Virtual tripwires and zones that alert on perimeter breaches. Rules can be time-scheduled — a warehouse yard tripwire that's silent during working hours and armed automatically after close — reducing false alerts from daytime staff and deliveries.

Loitering & Object Detection

Flag loitering, abandoned objects and crowd build-up. A dwell-time threshold (e.g. a person stationary near an entrance for over 60 seconds) triggers an alert rather than every passer-by, keeping the signal-to-noise ratio usable for a real operator.

Heat Maps & Dwell Time

Visualise movement and dwell time to optimise layouts. Aggregated over weeks, this shows which aisles, counters or waiting areas actually get used — data retailers and facility managers can act on, not just a security log.

Why add video analytics to your CCTV?

Traditional CCTV is reactive — you review footage after an incident. AI analytics make your system act in real time, cut false alarms, and unlock business insight from cameras you already own.

  • Real-time alerts instead of after-the-fact review
  • Fewer false alarms than basic motion detection
  • Faster forensic search by person, vehicle or plate
  • Business intelligence — footfall, queues, occupancy
  • Runs on leading Hikvision, Dahua & Axis platforms
  • ADMCC-compliant design & AMC support

Where video analytics adds the most value

  • Retail: people counting, queue and heat-map analytics to boost sales.
  • Industrial & warehousing: perimeter intrusion and PPE/zone monitoring.
  • Car parks & gates: ANPR for automated, ticketless access.
  • Corporate & government: face-recognition access and watch-list alerts.

Pair analytics with our CCTV installation and access control services for a complete solution.

Our process

How Emirtech deploys video analytics

Site survey & use-case scoping

We walk the site to assess existing cameras, lighting and mounting positions, and confirm which analytics genuinely solve your problem — not every site needs every feature.

Platform & hardware selection

We recommend edge or server-side processing, and whether existing cameras support it on-board or need an NVR/camera upgrade, based on the survey findings.

Rule configuration & tuning

Detection zones, tripwires, schedules and alert thresholds are configured and tested on-site — this tuning stage is what separates a usable system from one that floods your team with false alerts.

Integration & handover

Analytics events are wired into alarms, access control or a notification workflow as needed, with staff training and documentation provided at handover.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need new cameras for video analytics?
Not always. Many recent Hikvision, Dahua and Axis cameras and NVRs already support on-board AI analytics; older systems may need a recorder or camera upgrade. We assess this during the free site survey.
What's the difference between motion detection and video analytics?
Basic motion detection alerts on any pixel change (including shadows and animals), causing false alarms. AI analytics classify what moved — person, vehicle, plate — and apply rules like line-crossing, so alerts are far more accurate.
Is face recognition / ANPR legal in Abu Dhabi?
It can be, when designed correctly and used for a legitimate security purpose on your own premises, but the answer depends on the purpose, placement, signage, retention and the UAE PDPL (face data is sensitive personal data under the PDPL), as well as ADMCC requirements. Emirtech designs and configures the system to ADMCC requirements and advises on placement and data handling; this is not legal advice, so confirm your use case with counsel.
Can analytics integrate with alarms and access control?
Yes. Analytics events can trigger alarms, lock or unlock doors, and notify your team, creating an integrated, automated security response.
Which brands support the best analytics?
Hikvision (AcuSense/DeepinView), Dahua (WizMind) and Axis offer mature AI analytics. We recommend the right platform for your use case and budget.
What causes false alerts, and can they be reduced?
Most false alerts come from untuned settings — a tripwire armed 24/7 in a staff walkway, or a sensitivity threshold set too low for moving foliage or vehicle headlights. Proper zone drawing, scheduling and a tuning pass after go-live remove the majority of them; we don't consider a deployment finished until false-alert rates are down to a workable level for your team.
How much video and analytics data is stored, and for how long?
Raw video retention follows ADMCC's minimum standards for your premises type; analytics metadata (event logs, counts, timestamps) is typically kept separately and can be retained for a shorter or longer period depending on your operational need. We agree retention periods with you in writing before installation.
