How much does electrical work cost in Abu Dhabi?

Electrical work in Abu Dhabi typically ranges from about AED 150 for a minor fault call-out to AED 15,000 or more for a full villa rewire, depending on scope. There is no honest single price for electrical work, because two jobs with the same title can differ several-fold — and any published rate that ignores that is misleading. What we can be precise about is what moves the price. The main drivers are: the scope (a single socket versus a full villa rewire); whether the supply is single- or three-phase (three-phase boards, cable and protection cost more); the board — a few extra ways versus a full distribution board replacement with RCBO protection and an SPD; the cable runs — length, route, and whether cable can be concealed in existing containment or needs new conduit and chasing; the finish level — a functional value install versus a premium concealed finish with designed lighting and scene control; access and making-good — an occupied villa worked room-by-room costs more to stage than an empty shell; and the testing and documentation the works warrant. Because those factors swing the number so much, we do not quote blind. We carry out a free site survey, measure and assess the existing installation and load, then issue a itemised written quotation — labour, materials, protection, testing — with the regulatory boundary stated: our scope begins at the point of supply, and metering and connection sit with ADDC (Abu Dhabi) or AADC (Al Ain). No hidden costs, and a clear line between what is our scope and what is the utility's. For an itemised written quote on your specific job, call +971 55 651 7843 or email [email protected].

Capabilities

What affects the cost

Scope of works

A single socket, a room, or a full rewire — scope is the biggest single driver, so we price the job in front of us, not a generic rate.

Single vs three phase

Three-phase boards, cable and protection cost more than single-phase — common for larger villas and all industrial units.

Board & protection

Adding a few ways is modest; a full board replacement with RCBO protection and an SPD is a larger line — we advise which you actually need.

Cable runs & access

Length, route, and whether the run reuses existing containment or needs new conduit, chasing and making good all move the figure.

Finish level

A functional value install versus a premium concealed finish with designed lighting and smart control — both done safely, priced honestly.

Testing & documentation

The inspection, testing and documented test sheet the works warrant are itemised, not hidden in a round number.

Scope — what we deliver and explicitly do not

Cost transparency is part of honest scope. We are clear about what a quotation covers and what sits with the utility or a consultancy before you commit.

  • We deliver: a free site survey and load assessment, an itemised written quotation covering labour, materials, protection, testing and documentation, and a clear statement of the regulatory boundary — with no hidden costs.
  • We do not deliver: list-price guarantees sight-unseen, works on the utility network upstream of the point of supply, metering, connection approvals, or stamped MEP cost/load schedules for authority submission.
  • We are not: a chartered engineering consultancy, a Society of Engineers member firm, ADCD-certified for fire systems, or the distribution company. Our ADMCC approval covers security systems work only; it is not an electrical utility authorisation.
  • We are not affiliated with: ADDC, AADC, TAQA, the Department of Energy Abu Dhabi, ADCD, or any main contractor or consultancy.
  • Electrical coverage is Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Electrical work in Dubai is carried out by DEWA-licensed contractors, and Emirtech is not DEWA-licensed, so we do not take that work in Dubai; we also do not mobilise to Sharjah or the Northern Emirates. For the technology side of a Dubai project (IT, networking, smart home) we can help and we coordinate with your appointed contractor, while CCTV there is SIRA-regulated and should be handled by a SIRA-licensed contractor of the client's choosing.
  • Works on the utility network upstream of the point of supply, metering and connection approvals sit with ADDC (Abu Dhabi) / AADC (Al Ain) and their registered providers — we say so in the written quotation.

Common questions

FAQs

Are the prices in your table exact?
No — they're typical Abu Dhabi market ranges to help you budget. The same job title can cost several times more or less depending on scope, phase, board condition, cable runs, finish and access. We survey first and give an itemised written quotation — which is fairer than a one-size-fits-all list price. For the biggest job in the table, see villa rewiring in Abu Dhabi.
Is the site survey and quotation free?
Yes. The site survey and the written quotation are free and carry no obligation. You get an itemised figure — labour, materials, protection, testing — so you can see exactly what you are paying for before deciding.
What makes electrical work more expensive?
The biggest drivers are scope (a socket vs a rewire), three-phase versus single-phase, a full board replacement versus a few added ways, long or concealed cable runs needing new conduit and making-good, a premium concealed finish, and the testing and documentation the works warrant. We explain which of these apply to your job at the survey.
Do you charge for call-outs and testing separately?
Everything is itemised in the written quotation. For maintenance clients, call-out response and what is included versus chargeable is agreed up front in the AMC — see our maintenance page. See electrical repair and fault finding for what a fault call-out involves.
Does the quote include the ADDC connection or meter?
No. The incoming service, meter and connection approval sit with ADDC (Abu Dhabi) or AADC (Al Ain) and their registered providers, and their charges are separate from our scope. Our quotation covers the installation from the point of supply downstream, and states that boundary plainly.
Do you supply or install voltage stabilizers?
Not as a standalone appliance — a whole-villa voltage stabilizer is a separate piece of equipment from a specialist supplier. What we deliver is the electrical protection side: a properly earthed and bonded board with RCD/RCBO protection and a Type 2 surge protection device (SPD), which protects your circuits and equipment from voltage spikes and surges. If a stabilizer is fitted, we wire it into the board correctly as part of a board upgrade. For backup power rather than voltage regulation, we do supply and install APC by Schneider and Eaton UPS systems.
Which areas does this cover?
Abu Dhabi and Al Ain only — Mussafah, ICAD, KEZAD, the villa communities, the city districts and Al Ain.
