What electrical services does Emirtech provide in Abu Dhabi?

Emirtech Technology is an Abu Dhabi contractor founded in 2018 and based at M44, Mussafah Industrial Area, rated 4.9/5 from 960 Google reviews (see our customer reviews). Our electrical scope covers installation and wiring, distribution board installation and upgrade, final-circuit and sub-main cabling, containment and conduit systems, lighting installation, fault finding and repair, and post-installation inspection and testing — for villas, apartments, offices, retail units, warehouses and industrial premises across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

The work is a direct extension of what we already do daily: our EV charger installations routinely include distribution board upgrades with additional MCB ways, Type B RCD protection and Type 2 surge protective devices, and our solar, KNX and structured cabling projects depend on correctly designed and tested circuits. A typical engagement starts with a site survey — assessment of the existing board, spare-way count, load calculation against connected and projected loads, cable-route measurement and confirmation of single- or three-phase supply. Installation follows with correctly sized conductors, containment and circuit protection. Every installation is then verified: continuity and open-circuit testing, polarity verification, insulation resistance measurement, earth-loop impedance measurement and RCD trip-time testing, handed over with a documented test sheet and an updated circuit schedule.

To be explicit about the boundary: our scope begins at the point of supply. Works on the public distribution network upstream of it, metering and utility connection approvals sit with ADDC in Abu Dhabi and AADC in Al Ain and their registered providers; we are not a chartered engineering consultancy, we do not stamp MEP drawings, and we are not ADCD-certified for fire-alarm scope. Our published operating hours are Monday to Saturday, 08:00–19:00. We also take on electrical works packages as a subcontractor for developers, consultants and main contractors on new-build projects, working to the approved specification rather than designing the system ourselves. Scope — what we deliver and explicitly do not

Electrical work in Abu Dhabi has clear regulatory boundaries. We state which activities sit inside our scope and which sit with the distribution companies, the civil defence authority and chartered consultancies — before we quote, not after.

  • We deliver: site survey and load assessment, electrical installation and wiring, distribution board installation and upgrade, final-circuit and sub-main cabling, containment and conduit, lighting installation, fault finding and repair, inspection and testing with documented results, circuit schedules and single-line diagrams, and electrical AMC.
  • We do not deliver: works on the public distribution network upstream of the point of supply, metering, utility connection approvals or scheme registrations, stamped MEP shop drawings or load schedules, MEP plant commissioning, BIM modelling, or fire-alarm design and commissioning.
  • We are not: a chartered engineering consultancy, a Society of Engineers member firm, ADCD-certified for fire systems, or the distribution company. Our ADMCC approval covers security systems work only; it is not an electrical utility authorisation.
  • We are not affiliated with: ADDC, AADC, TAQA, the Department of Energy Abu Dhabi, ADCD, or any main contractor or consultancy.
  • Electrical coverage is Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Electrical work in Dubai is carried out by DEWA-licensed contractors, and Emirtech is not DEWA-licensed, so we do not take that work in Dubai; we also do not mobilise to Sharjah or the Northern Emirates. For the technology side of a Dubai project (IT, networking, smart home) we can help and we coordinate with your appointed contractor, while CCTV there is SIRA-regulated and should be handled by a SIRA-licensed contractor of the client's choosing.
  • Anything touching the main building services, fire shaft or façade requires the main contractor's or owner association's NOC; we will not start such works without it.

Common questions

FAQs

What electrical work does Emirtech carry out in Abu Dhabi?
Electrical installation and wiring, distribution board installation and upgrades, final-circuit and sub-main cabling, containment and conduit, lighting installation, fault finding and repair, and post-installation inspection and testing. We work on villas, apartments, offices, retail units, warehouses and industrial premises across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. For flats, see electrician for apartments in Abu Dhabi. For businesses, see electrician for shops, restaurants and offices.
Can you upgrade a distribution board for an EV charger or solar system?
Yes. Distribution board upgrades are routine work for us — we already carry them out as part of EV charger installations, including additional MCB ways, RCD protection of the type the charger requires (Type A with built-in DC fault detection, or Type B) and Type 2 surge protective devices sized to the manufacturer's requirements. The same team handles the charger, the board upgrade and the installation-side solar wiring; the utility connection and any approvals stay with the distribution company.
What testing do you carry out after an electrical installation?
Continuity and open-circuit testing, polarity verification, insulation resistance measurement, earth-loop impedance measurement and RCD trip-time testing. We hand over a documented test sheet and, where the works warrant it, an updated single-line diagram and circuit schedule so the installation can be maintained and extended later.
Do you carry out works on the utility network or arrange connection approvals?
No. Works on the public distribution network upstream of the point of supply, metering, and utility connection approvals sit with the distribution company (ADDC in Abu Dhabi, AADC in Al Ain) and their registered providers. Our scope begins at the point of supply and covers the installation downstream of it. We will say so plainly in the written quotation. For the rules that apply to installations, see the Abu Dhabi Electricity Wiring Regulations 2020 guide.
Which areas do you cover for electrical work?
Abu Dhabi and Al Ain only. That includes Mussafah, ICAD, KEZAD, Khalifa City, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Shamkha, Baniyas, Yas Island, Al Reem Island, Saadiyat and Masdar City, plus Al Ain districts such as Sanaiya, Al Jimi and Al Muwaiji. Find us on Google Business Profile.
Can you wire a standby generator changeover?
Yes. We install and wire the changeover — manual or automatic (ATS) — and a dedicated essential-load board so priority circuits (AC to key rooms, security, water pumps, essential lighting) stay live during an outage. We coordinate with the generator supplier; the generator set's own mechanical supply, exhaust and commissioning sit with that supplier, not with us.
What are your hours for electrical call-outs?
We reply the same working day to electrical fault call-outs in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Our published operating hours are Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 19:00; we are not a 24-hour service. Call +971 55 651 7843 or email [email protected] to book a site visit or request a written quotation.
