A considered WiFi access-point installation follows a deliberate, multi-stage process: it begins with an RF site survey that maps wall materials, ceiling heights, and interference sources to produce a precise AP placement plan — not guesswork from a floor plan alone. With the placement finalised, structured cabling runs are pulled to each mounting location, terminated on PoE-capable switch ports sized to the power draw of the chosen hardware — 802.3af for lightweight indoor APs, 802.3at for dual-radio enterprise units, and 802.3bt where outdoor or tri-radio models demand it (see our PoE power-budget guide for detailed wattage tables). Access points are then ceiling-mounted, wall-mounted, or bracket-mounted depending on the environment: suspended-tile offices suit flush T-rail clips; exposed-concrete warehouses and outdoor courtyards call for conduit-fed surface brackets rated IP67. Each AP is registered to a controller-based or cloud-managed platform — Aruba Central, Cisco Meraki Dashboard, Ruijie Cloud, UniFi Network, or TP-Link Omada SDN — where SSIDs, VLANs, WPA3 security policies, band-steering rules, and roaming thresholds are configured for the specific density and device mix of the site. Channel and transmit-power assignments follow a measured RF channel plan: 2.4 GHz channels 1, 6, and 11 only; 5 GHz on non-DFS channels where possible; 6 GHz for WiFi 6E deployments where TDRA permits. AP density is calculated per zone — typically one AP per 150 to 250 m² in open offices, tighter spacing in lecture halls, hotel corridors, and hospital wards where client counts per AP can exceed 40. Post-installation, every zone is walked with a validation survey confirming signal-to-noise ratio, roaming latency, and throughput against the design targets. Emirtech provides end-to-end WiFi access-point installation as an independent systems integrator. The following scope defines what every engagement includes and where our remit ends — stated plainly so there is no ambiguity.
This scope applies uniformly to offices, hotels, hospitals, schools, retail venues and warehouses. If your requirement falls outside this remit, we will say so before any engagement begins.
Common questions
The number depends on floor area, wall construction, ceiling height, and the expected concurrent client count per zone. As a general planning figure, one indoor AP covers 150 to 250 m² in a standard open-plan office; partitioned spaces, lecture halls, and high-density zones such as hotel lobbies require tighter spacing. The only reliable method is an RF site survey — Emirtech performs these at your Abu Dhabi premises at no charge as the first step of every engagement.
Standalone APs are configured individually via a web interface — adequate for a single unit in a small office, but unmanageable at scale. Controller-based APs (whether on-premises hardware controllers or cloud-managed platforms such as Aruba Central, Meraki Dashboard, or Ruijie Cloud) centralise SSID provisioning, VLAN assignment, firmware updates, channel planning, and roaming policy across every AP from a single pane. For any deployment above three or four access points, a controller-based architecture is strongly recommended.
Most dual-band indoor APs draw 12 to 18 W and operate on 802.3af (15.4 W) or 802.3at (30 W) PoE. Tri-radio WiFi 6E and WiFi 7 models with additional radios or integrated IoT sensors can draw 25 to 40 W, requiring 802.3at or 802.3bt (up to 90 W). Outdoor directional APs with integrated antennas and heaters may also require 802.3bt. Your PoE switch must be sized with headroom — total port wattage typically 20 to 30 percent above the sum of connected AP draws to avoid power-budget brownouts.
Yes. We install outdoor-rated APs (IP67 and IP68 enclosures) for courtyards, car parks, pool decks, construction sites, and warehousing yards. Outdoor deployments require UV-rated cabling or fibre uplinks, weatherproof mounting brackets, and surge protection at the switch end. AP selection accounts for Abu Dhabi's ambient temperatures, which can exceed 50 degrees Celsius in summer — models with passive cooling and extended operating-temperature ranges are specified accordingly.
Yes. VLAN segmentation is a standard deliverable. Corporate SSIDs are placed on a dedicated VLAN with 802.1X authentication; guest SSIDs are isolated on a separate VLAN with bandwidth throttling, client isolation, and captive-portal redirection where required. This prevents guest traffic from reaching internal resources — a baseline security measure for any business wireless network.
Call +971 55 651 7843 or email [email protected] with the site address, approximate floor area, number of floors or buildings, expected user count, and any existing wireless infrastructure. You can also complete the form on our request a quotation page. We will arrange a free RF site survey at your premises, then provide an itemised proposal covering AP hardware, cabling, switching, controller licensing, installation labour, and optional annual maintenance.
Most enterprise access points need a network cable to a PoE switch (or PoE injector) for both data and power, so each access point position needs a cabled point. Where a location has no data point, new cabling is added after the survey; where cabling and switches already exist, they can be tested and reused if they meet the access point's requirements. The survey lists what can be kept before you receive a written quotation.
The duration depends on the number of access points, building access, cable pathways, whether new cabling is needed and the testing required. Emirtech does not publish standard durations: after a free site survey you receive a written quotation with a schedule for your site.
