How does Emirtech build network racks, data closets and server rooms in Abu Dhabi?

Emirtech Technology is a systems integrator (ADMCC-approved for security systems) founded in 2018, based at M44, Mussafah Industrial Area, Abu Dhabi, delivering network rack, data closet and small server room build-outs for offices, clinics, retail, warehousing and light-industrial premises across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Our scope starts with a site survey to size the rack correctly — wall-mount 6U to 12U cabinets for IDF/data closets, free-standing 22U, 27U, 32U and 42U+ floor cabinets for main equipment rooms — and to decide between open frame and closed (lockable, ventilated) enclosures based on dust, security, cooling and access requirements. We deliver structured cabling termination into the rack (Cat6/Cat6A patch panels, fibre LIUs, labelled patch leads), full front and rear cable management with horizontal and vertical organisers, vertical and horizontal PDUs sized to load with the correct phase, amperage and outlet mix (C13/C19), and on-line double-conversion UPS typically from 1kVA to 10kVA with appropriate runtime and bypass. We install and configure switches, firewalls, routers, NVRs and small servers, plus KVM for local access, and integrate environmental monitoring for temperature, humidity and water-leak detection with alerting. Physical security around the room — door access control, CCTV coverage and intrusion contacts — is delivered under our ADMCC-approved electronic-security scope. We coordinate precision or comfort cooling with HVAC contractors and clean-agent fire suppression with licensed fire-suppression specialists; we do not deliver HVAC or fire-suppression works ourselves. Every build is documented with rack elevations, port maps, IP schedules, labelling and as-built drawings, and handed over with maintenance options. For sizing, single-line drawings and an itemised written proposal, call +971 55 651 7843 or email [email protected].

Capabilities

Rack, power and structured cabling delivered as one package

Rack sizing and selection

Wall-mount 6U-12U for IDF and data closets; free-standing 22U, 27U, 32U and 42U+ for main rooms. Open frame or closed lockable enclosure chosen on dust, security, airflow and access criteria with depth matched to deepest device.

Structured cabling termination

Cat6/Cat6A copper patch panels, fibre LIUs with LC/SC pigtails, labelled patch leads, and cable trays into the rack. Front and rear management with horizontal organisers and vertical fingers to keep airflow clean.

PDU, UPS and clean power

Rack-mount or zero-U vertical PDUs sized to load with correct C13/C19 mix; on-line double-conversion UPS typically 1-10kVA with runtime sized to graceful shutdown or generator changeover, plus surge and earth verification.

Environmental monitoring

Temperature, humidity and water-leak sensors with email and SMS alerts, door contacts on the rack or room, and integration into the wider monitoring stack so operations notice problems before users do.

Server room build scope — engineered, documented, handed over

From a single comms closet to a small on-prem server room, Emirtech engineers the rack, power, cabling and physical security as one coordinated package, then hands over with rack elevations, port maps and IP schedules. Cooling and fire suppression are coordinated with specialist trades, never improvised. Call +971 55 651 7843 or request a free server room consultation.

Engineering practice

How a small server room actually stays reliable

Rack elevations and as-builts

Every rack is drawn to scale with U-position assignments, cable routes and power distribution before procurement. Final as-built drawings, port maps, IP schedules and labelling go into the handover pack so the next engineer is not guessing.

Physical security on the room

Door access control with audit trail, CCTV coverage of entry and rack-front, plus intrusion contacts where required. Delivered under our ADMCC-approved electronic-security scope and integrated with the wider site security system.

Cooling and fire coordination

We coordinate precision or comfort cooling with the HVAC contractor and clean-agent fire suppression with the licensed specialist — including penetrations, detection tie-ins and shutdown logic — but the HVAC and fire-suppression works themselves are delivered by those trades.

Maintenance and lifecycle

Scheduled UPS battery checks, PDU load reviews, cleaning, label audits and capacity reporting. We track end-of-life on UPS batteries and switches so refresh budgets are planned, not surprised, across a 3-5 year horizon.

Scope — what we deliver and explicitly do not

Server-room build-outs sit at the boundary of multiple trades. Our scope is deliberately bounded so you know exactly who is responsible for what, and where we coordinate rather than execute. The bullets below set out what Emirtech actually delivers, what we explicitly do not, what we are not accredited as, and the lifecycle and handover practice that goes with every project.

  • We deliver: rack supply and installation (6U-42U+), structured cabling termination into the rack, PDU sizing and installation, on-line double-conversion UPS (1-10kVA typical) supply and commissioning, KVM and out-of-band access, environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, leak, door), network device installation and configuration, rack elevations and as-built documentation, plus ADMCC-approved physical security (access control, CCTV, intrusion) on the room itself.
  • We do not deliver: HVAC works including precision (CRAC/CRAH) or comfort cooling — we coordinate with the HVAC contractor but do not install, commission or maintain cooling plant. We do not deliver clean-agent or sprinkler fire suppression — we coordinate with a licensed fire-suppression specialist. We do not perform civil works, raised-floor installation, or main LV distribution upstream of the UPS input.
  • We are not: an APC Schneider, Vertiv (Liebert), Eaton, Tripp Lite, Rittal or Panduit Authorised Distributor or Platinum Partner. We are not an HPE, Dell, IBM or Cisco tier partner. We procure equipment via authorised UAE channels and install it commercially with field experience. We are not a fire-suppression contractor and not an HVAC contractor.
  • We are not affiliated with: APC Schneider, Vertiv (Liebert), Eaton, Tripp Lite, Rittal, Panduit, HPE, Dell, IBM, Cisco, or any specific server-room equipment brand distributor in UAE. We are an independent integrator and recommend equipment on technical and commercial merit, not channel obligation.
  • Lifecycle and handover: every rack ships with labelled cabling, U-position assignments, rack elevations, IP schedules, port maps, UPS load calculations and as-built drawings, and is supported under our scheduled maintenance options covering UPS battery checks, PDU load reviews and capacity reporting.

This bounded scope is why our server-room handovers are clean: every cable is labelled, every U-position is documented, every coordination point with HVAC and fire suppression is recorded, and every credential and lifecycle date is in the handover pack. If you need a single-trade contractor to do everything, we are not that contractor; if you need an integrator who will coordinate the others honestly, we are.

Common questions

FAQs

What size rack do we need — wall-mount, half-height or full 42U?

It depends on device count, depth, growth, weight and where the room or closet is. A small office IDF with a switch, patch panel and small UPS is fine on a 9U or 12U wall-mount. A site with a firewall, two switches, NVR, server and 5kVA UPS usually needs a 22U or 27U floor cabinet with proper depth. Main equipment rooms with multiple servers go to 32U or 42U+. We size on a survey and draw the rack elevation before we quote.

Open frame or closed cabinet — which is right?

Closed lockable cabinets are the default in Abu Dhabi because of dust ingress, physical security and tidy presentation; they need vented doors and adequate cooling. Open frames suit clean, secure rooms where maximum airflow and access matter — typically dedicated server rooms with controlled environment. We recommend based on room conditions, security risk and cooling plan, not preference.

What UPS size and runtime should we specify?

For most SMB rooms we deploy on-line double-conversion UPS between 1kVA and 10kVA. Sizing is based on measured or calculated rack load with headroom for growth, and runtime is sized to either complete graceful shutdown of servers and storage, or to bridge until a standby generator picks up. We document load calculations and runtime so the choice is defensible, not guessed.

Do you do the cooling and fire suppression too?

No. Server-room cooling — precision (CRAC/CRAH) or comfort cooling — is delivered by an HVAC contractor; we coordinate sizing, layout, condensate routing and controls integration. Clean-agent fire suppression (FM200, Novec, inert gas) is delivered by a licensed fire-suppression specialist; we coordinate detection tie-ins, shutdown logic and penetrations. This separation of trades is how the project actually gets approved and signed off.

Are you an APC, Vertiv, Eaton or Cisco authorised distributor?

No. Emirtech installs and supports APC Schneider, Vertiv, Eaton, Tripp Lite, Rittal, Panduit, HPE, Dell, IBM and Cisco equipment commercially via authorised UAE channels, but we are not an APC Authorised Distributor, Vertiv Master Partner, Eaton PowerAdvantage Partner, Cisco Premier Partner or Dell Titanium Partner. We procure on technical merit and competitive pricing — we hold no manufacturer credential of our own.
