What does Emirtech deliver inside the Microsoft Defender XDR unified portal in Abu Dhabi?

Emirtech Technology is a contractor (ADMCC-approved for security systems) founded in 2018, operating from M44, Mussafah Industrial Area, Abu Dhabi, reachable on +971 55 651 7843. We deploy the Microsoft Defender XDR unified portal (formerly Microsoft 365 Defender, accessible at security.microsoft.com) across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, unifying signals from Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) Plan 1 or Plan 2, Defender for Identity (MDI), Defender for Office 365 (MDO) Plan 1 or Plan 2 and Defender for Cloud Apps (MDCA), with optional paid integration of Microsoft Sentinel and Defender for IoT. We onboard tenants, configure role-based access via Microsoft Entra ID security groups, enable the unified incidents queue, build cross-product correlation, and tune the Automated Investigation and Response (AIR) playbooks for endpoint and email remediation. Detection engineering uses Advanced Hunting KQL across DeviceEvents, IdentityLogonEvents, EmailEvents, CloudAppEvents and AlertEvidence tables, mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK matrix with custom detection rules. We deploy attack surface reduction (ASR) rules in audit then block mode, configure web content filtering, enable tamper protection, set device groups with automation levels, and integrate threat analytics reporting for your security team. Licensing is honest: many capabilities require Microsoft 365 E5, E5 Security or individual product SKUs, and Sentinel/Defender for IoT bill separately by ingestion or device. We are not a Microsoft Solutions Partner-tier specialised partner in any solution area, we are not a Microsoft FastTrack-Ready Partner, and we hold no SIRA, ISO 27001, NESA, ADHICS or PDPL certification. We hold no manufacturer-level credential of our own. We do not operate a 24/7 SOC; alert triage, hunting and response remain with your team or a third-party MSSP. For a Defender XDR deployment scoped to your existing Microsoft licensing and Abu Dhabi data-residency expectations, call +971 55 651 7843 or email [email protected].

Defender XDR portal deployment scope

What the Defender XDR unified portal covers

Unified incidents queue

We enable the cross-product incidents view at security.microsoft.com, correlating MDE device alerts, MDI identity alerts, MDO email alerts and MDCA cloud app alerts into single incidents with evidence graphs for faster triage by your analysts.

Advanced Hunting KQL

We build KQL queries across DeviceEvents, IdentityLogonEvents, EmailEvents, CloudAppEvents and AlertEvidence tables, save them as custom detection rules, and document each rule against MITRE ATT&CK tactics and techniques.

AIR automation tuning

We configure Automated Investigation and Response automation levels per device group, from semi-automatic approval to full remediation, scope email AIR playbooks, and review pending actions during the tuning window to reduce analyst toil.

MITRE ATT&CK alignment

We map enabled detections to the MITRE ATT&CK enterprise matrix, identify coverage gaps across initial access, execution, persistence and lateral movement, and document residual risk where your licensing or sensors do not cover specific techniques.

Defender XDR deployment checklist for Abu Dhabi tenants

Every Defender XDR engagement starts with a licensing audit so you only pay for products you actually have, followed by a phased rollout across pilot device groups before tenant-wide enablement. To scope your Defender XDR deployment, call +971 55 651 7843 or request a free Defender XDR consultation.

Integration and detection engineering

How we extend Defender XDR for your environment

Sentinel paid integration

Where Microsoft Sentinel is licensed, we connect it to the Defender XDR unified portal, stream incidents bidirectionally, deploy data connectors for non-Microsoft sources, and tune analytics rules. Sentinel ingestion costs are billed by Microsoft separately and reviewed with you.

Defender for IoT scoping

For OT and IoT visibility, we scope Defender for IoT sensors on industrial networks, document device coverage and licensing per device, and integrate alerts into the Defender XDR incidents queue. Hardware sensor procurement remains a separate purchase.

Custom detection rules

We author and version-control custom detection rules in Advanced Hunting KQL covering credential dumping, suspicious PowerShell, OAuth consent grants, mailbox forwarding rules and impossible travel, each tagged with MITRE ATT&CK technique IDs for audit traceability.

Role-based access control

We design RBAC using Microsoft Entra ID security groups and Defender XDR custom roles, separating SOC analyst, incident responder, threat hunter and administrator duties so least-privilege is enforced across the unified portal and Advanced Hunting.

Scope — what we deliver and explicitly do not

Defender XDR is a portfolio of Microsoft security products surfaced through one portal, and licensing varies per workload. We are transparent about which capabilities we configure, which require licences you may not yet hold, and which credentials we do not claim.

  • We deliver: Defender XDR unified portal onboarding, MDE/MDI/MDO/MDCA configuration, Advanced Hunting KQL detection engineering, AIR tuning, ASR rule deployment, RBAC design, MITRE ATT&CK coverage mapping and Sentinel integration where licensed.
  • We do not deliver: 24/7 SOC monitoring, managed detection and response (MDR), incident response retainers, forensic investigations, Microsoft licensing resale, or hardware sensor supply for Defender for IoT.
  • We are not: a Microsoft Solutions Partner-tier specialised partner in any solution area, a Microsoft FastTrack-Ready Partner, an AWS Partner Network (APN) member, or a manufacturer-certified XDR partner for any vendor other than our Control4 installation through a third-party dealer for residential automation.
  • We are not affiliated with: Microsoft Corporation, Microsoft Solutions Partner-tier Security partners, authorised Microsoft distributors in UAE, CrowdStrike Falcon XDR, SentinelOne Singularity XDR or Palo Alto Cortex XDR.
  • Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are our priority areas, and in Dubai: IT AMC and time attendance by scheduled on-site visits, gate barriers, ANPR, video intercoms and turnstiles by Emirtech itself, and CCTV, alarm and access control through SIRA-approved partners, with Emirtech coordinating; we do not mobilise to Sharjah or the Northern Emirates. We hold no SIRA registration.
  • We hold no ISO 27001, NESA, ADHICS or PDPL certification; compliance attestations remain the customer's responsibility and we document deployment evidence to support your auditor.
  • Microsoft licensing must be procured through your existing Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) or enterprise agreement; we do not resell Microsoft licences and Sentinel ingestion costs are billed directly by Microsoft.

If you want a Defender XDR deployment scoped honestly to your existing Microsoft 365 licensing, with detection engineering aligned to MITRE ATT&CK and clear handover documentation, we will write the statement of work without overstating partner credentials we do not hold.

Common questions

FAQs

Do I need Microsoft 365 E5 to use Defender XDR?

Not entirely. The Defender XDR unified portal itself is available to any tenant with at least one Defender product. However, the full cross-product correlation across MDE, MDI, MDO and MDCA typically requires Microsoft 365 E5, E5 Security, or individual product SKUs. We audit your existing licensing first and tell you exactly which capabilities are entitled before any deployment work begins.

Is Emirtech a Microsoft Solutions Partner or FastTrack-Ready Partner?

No. Emirtech Technology is not a Microsoft Solutions Partner-tier specialised partner in any solution area, including Security, and we are not a Microsoft FastTrack-Ready Partner. We implement Microsoft technologies commercially via authorised UAE channels. We hold no manufacturer-level credential of our own.

Does Defender XDR replace Microsoft Sentinel?

No, they are complementary. Defender XDR provides cross-product correlation for Microsoft security products and is included with the underlying Defender licences. Microsoft Sentinel is a separately licensed cloud-native SIEM that ingests data from non-Microsoft sources and is billed by ingestion volume. The Defender XDR unified portal can host the Sentinel workspace view where Sentinel is licensed, and we configure that integration where applicable.

Will Emirtech monitor our Defender XDR alerts 24/7?

No. We are not a managed SOC operator and do not provide 24/7 monitoring, MDR or incident response retainers. Our scope is deployment, tuning, detection engineering and handover. Ongoing alert triage and response remain with your internal security team or a third-party MSSP. We document runbooks so handover is clean.

Do you cover Defender for IoT and OT environments?

We scope Defender for IoT sensor placement and integrate alerts into the Defender XDR incidents queue where the product is licensed. Defender for IoT is billed per device and may require hardware sensors for passive network monitoring, which are procured separately. We do not hold IEC 62443 or NESA OT-specific certifications and limit scope to Microsoft-supplied tooling.

How do I request a quote for Defender XDR deployment?

Call +971 55 651 7843, email [email protected], or use our request a quotation form. We will arrange a scoping call to review your existing Microsoft 365 / E5 licensing, current Defender product enablement and target detection coverage, then issue a fixed-scope statement of work covering onboarding, tuning and handover for sites across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
