Why specify HID Lumidigm over conventional fingerprint
Lumidigm captures both surface ridge detail and sub-surface fingerprint features beneath the skin in a single placement, delivering a usable template where conventional optical readers see only a smudge or no image at all.
Industrial, construction and manufacturing sites routinely defeat capacitive and optical fingerprint. Lumidigm reads through water, oil, dust and grime — failure-to-enrol and false-reject rates can drop substantially on rough-trade workforces.

Biometric template data is sensitive personal data under UAE PDPL (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021). Emirtech configures on-device template storage where the Lumidigm reader supports it, encrypted transmission between reader and controller (TLS / OSDP Secure Channel) and retention-and-deletion settings per the customer's policy. The customer obtains explicit consent from data subjects before enrolment. Emirtech delivers technical controls; we are NOT a PDPL legal advisor and NOT PDPL-certified.
Lumidigm uses multi-spectral imaging that captures both surface ridges and sub-surface fingerprint features, requiring more complex optics, illumination and processing. The premium is justified when conventional readers produce unacceptable failure-to-enrol or false-reject rates on the target workforce — industrial, construction, healthcare or banking populations. For clean-office environments, conventional fingerprint or card-plus-PIN is usually a better commercial fit.
We install the M-Series (M301, M311 standalone wall-mount), V-Series (V371, V310 OEM modules for integration into kiosks and bespoke enclosures), K-Series kiosk-grade sensors and Lumidigm sensors integrated into HID iCLASS SE and Signo multi-technology readers. Final model choice depends on environment (indoor / outdoor / IP rating), throughput, ACS panel compatibility and budget.
Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are our priority areas and ADMCC-regulated security work is delivered in the Abu Dhabi emirate (including Al Ain). We do not hold SIRA approval; SIRA-regulated security work in Dubai (CCTV, alarm and access control) is delivered through SIRA-approved partners, with Emirtech coordinating; non-regulated Control4 work in Dubai is taken case by case after an on-site visit, and other IT work in Dubai is IT AMC and time attendance.
