What does family office and private wealth IT in Abu Dhabi cover?

Family office and private wealth IT in Abu Dhabi covers the systems, controls and physical safeguards that protect highly sensitive financial, legal and personal information for principals, beneficiaries and their advisors. Emirtech Technology — founded in 2018 and based at M44, Mussafah Industrial Area, Abu Dhabi — delivers this work for single-family offices, multi-family offices, private investment houses and wealth-management practices across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Our scope is purely technical and operational: Microsoft 365 hardening with strict conditional access and number-matching MFA, Defender for Office 365 with safe-links and safe-attachments, sensitivity labels and DLP rules tuned for financial confidentiality, mailbox journaling and third-party M365 backup with long retention. On endpoints we deploy BitLocker on every laptop, premium EDR (CrowdStrike Falcon, SentinelOne or Microsoft Defender for Endpoint P2), application allow-listing and managed patching through Intune. For the network we install FortiGate firewalls with strict VLAN segmentation separating principals, staff, guests and IoT, plus secure remote access via FortiClient ZTNA. For the office itself we install ADMCC-approved CCTV at reception and corridors with privacy-respecting placement in client meeting rooms, biometric access control on document stores, and a discreet administrative handling process for sensitive originals. We also help you prepare for PDPL technical obligations and, where relevant, ADGM Data Protection Regulation readiness. We are an ADMCC-approved CCTV contractor and a Control4 installer working with a third-party authorised dealer. We are not an SCA-licensed firm, not a CBUAE-licensed institution, not an ADGM FSRA or DIFC authorised entity, not a SIRA-licensed contractor, not ISO 27001 certified, not a NESA/ADHICS or PDPL-certified body and not a 24/7 SOC. We do not provide investment advice, custody, fiduciary services or any regulated financial activity. To plan a confidential walk-through of your office in Abu Dhabi or Al Ain, call +971 55 651 7843 or email [email protected].

Core capabilities

What we build for family offices and private wealth firms

Microsoft 365 confidentiality stack

Strict conditional access, number-matching MFA, Defender for Office 365 with safe-links and safe-attachments, sensitivity labels and DLP rules tuned to financial documents, plus mailbox journaling and third-party M365 backup with long retention for principals and staff.

Endpoint hardening with premium EDR

BitLocker full-disk encryption on every laptop, Intune-managed configuration profiles, premium EDR such as CrowdStrike Falcon or SentinelOne, application allow-listing, USB control and managed patching to reduce ransomware and data-theft exposure across the office.

FortiGate network segmentation

FortiGate next-generation firewall with strict VLANs separating principals, advisors, support staff, guests and IoT, FortiClient ZTNA for remote access, web filtering, and IDS/IPS — so a compromised guest or printer cannot reach financial workstations or document servers.

ADMCC-approved CCTV and access control

ADMCC-approved CCTV at reception, corridors and document rooms with privacy-respecting placement in client meeting rooms, biometric or card access on safes and file stores, and a discreet administrative handling routine for sensitive originals and signed instruments.

How an Emirtech engagement runs

We begin with a confidential walk-through of your Abu Dhabi office, a review of your current Microsoft 365 tenant, endpoints, firewall and CCTV, and a short interview with the principal's gatekeeper or chief of staff. From there we produce a written scope, an itemised written proposal and a phased rollout plan that minimises disruption to principals and advisors. Implementation is performed by named engineers under NDA, with change windows agreed in advance and a single point of contact throughout. Call +971 55 651 7843 or request a free family office IT consultation.

  • Confidential discovery walk-through of office, server room and document store

Additional services

More ways we support family offices in Abu Dhabi

Third-party M365 backup and retention

Independent backup of Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams with long retention windows suited to family-office record-keeping, immutable copies, granular restore of single emails or documents, and restore tests that you can witness.

Secure document handling and biometric storage

Biometric access to document safes and archive rooms, dual-control sign-out for originals, a discreet administrative routine for couriered instruments, and tamper-evident logging — so access to signed agreements, share certificates and passports is controlled and logged.

PDPL and ADGM DPR technical readiness

Technical mapping of personal data flows across mailboxes, file shares, HR and accounting systems, retention and deletion controls, breach-detection alerting through EDR and M365, and documentation you can hand to your legal counsel — without claiming certification we do not hold.

Principal residence and boardroom AV

As a Control4 installer working with a third-party authorised dealer we extend the office posture to the principal's residence and private boardrooms — quiet automation, secure guest Wi-Fi on a dedicated VLAN, discreet CCTV and intercom, and audio-video for private meetings without exposing the family-office tenant.

Scope — what we deliver and explicitly do not

Family offices and private wealth firms in Abu Dhabi operate under intense confidentiality expectations from principals, beneficiaries and counterparties. To keep our role unambiguous, we publish exactly what Emirtech delivers, what we do not deliver, what we are not, and the regulators, institutions and firms we are not affiliated with. This protects both your office and ours.

  • We deliver: Microsoft 365 hardening, Defender for Office 365, sensitivity labels and DLP, BitLocker, premium EDR, Intune device management, FortiGate firewalls with VLAN segmentation, FortiClient ZTNA remote access, ADMCC-approved CCTV, biometric and card access control, third-party M365 backup with long retention, structured-cabling, server-room tidy-ups, on-site support across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, and Control4 automation for principal residences and boardrooms.
  • We do not deliver: investment advice, portfolio management, custody, fiduciary or trustee services, regulated financial intermediation, tax or legal opinions, accounting sign-off, ISO 27001 / NESA / ADHICS / PDPL certification audits, 24/7 SOC monitoring, SIRA-licensed guarding, or fire-alarm commissioning under ADCD.
  • We are not: an SCA-licensed firm, a CBUAE-licensed institution, an ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority authorised entity, a DIFC authorised firm, a SIRA-licensed contractor, an ISO 27001-certified organisation, a NESA / ADHICS or PDPL-certified body, an ADCD fire-alarm contractor, or a 24/7 security operations centre.
  • We are not affiliated with: the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), the ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), the DIFC Authority, Mubadala, ADQ, Royal Group, Al Nowais Investments, or any specific UAE family office or wealth-management firm. We are an independent IT contractor and ADMCC-approved installer for security systems and a Control4 installer working with a third-party authorised dealer.
  • Engagement model: work is performed by named engineers under NDA, with documented change windows, written as-built packs, and a single point of contact for the principal's office or chief of staff.
  • Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are our priority areas, and in Dubai: IT AMC and time attendance by scheduled on-site visits, gate barriers, ANPR, video intercoms and turnstiles by Emirtech itself, and CCTV, alarm and access control through SIRA-approved partners, with Emirtech coordinating; we do not mobilise to Sharjah or the Northern Emirates. We do not hold SIRA approval; SIRA-regulated security work in Dubai (CCTV, alarm and access control) is delivered through SIRA-approved partners, with Emirtech coordinating.

If a requirement falls outside this scope — for example, a regulated financial activity, an external ISO 27001 certification audit or 24/7 SOC monitoring — we will say so plainly and, where possible, introduce you to a specialist firm that is properly accredited for that work.

Common questions

FAQs

Are you an SCA, CBUAE, ADGM FSRA or DIFC authorised firm?

No. Emirtech is an independent IT and low-current contractor. We are not licensed by the Securities and Commodities Authority, the Central Bank of the UAE, the ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority or the DIFC Authority, and we do not provide regulated financial services. Our role is purely technical — Microsoft 365, endpoints, networks, CCTV, access control and backup — so your office can meet its own confidentiality obligations.

Will you sign an NDA before the discovery walk-through?

Yes. Before any site visit or tenant access we sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement with your office, agree the named engineers who will attend, and brief them on confidentiality expectations. The walk-through is scheduled discreetly with your chief of staff or office manager and avoids principal meeting hours where possible.

Can you harden Microsoft 365 without disrupting principals and advisors?

Yes. We stage conditional access, MFA, Defender policies, sensitivity labels and DLP rules in audit mode first, pilot with the IT and operations team, then enforce in agreed waves. Principals and senior advisors receive bespoke onboarding for MFA and label use, and we keep a documented rollback plan for every change.

Do you provide 24/7 SOC monitoring or incident response retainers?

We do not operate a 24/7 security operations centre. We deploy premium EDR (such as CrowdStrike Falcon or SentinelOne) and Microsoft Defender, configure alerting into a shared inbox or ticket queue, and respond during business hours. For 24/7 SOC services we will refer you to a properly accredited MDR provider.

How do you handle CCTV in private meeting rooms?

ADMCC-approved CCTV is installed at reception, corridors, document stores and external entry points. Inside client meeting rooms we either omit cameras entirely or use clearly visible, recording-only-when-armed devices with signage, depending on your policy. Recording retention, access rights and review procedures are documented and signed off by the principal's office.
