How do we configure access control for co-working and shared-office spaces in Abu Dhabi?

Emirtech Technology is an ADMCC-approved electronic security installer founded in 2018 and headquartered at M44, Mussafah Industrial Area, Abu Dhabi — call +971 55 651 7843 or email [email protected]. We configure cloud-managed access control for co-working and shared-office operators across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, mapping membership tiers (hot-desk, dedicated desk, private office, meeting-room hours, 24x7 premium) onto door schedules, reader groups and lift-access permissions. Typical deployments combine mobile credentials issued through the operator's member-management platform with backup card credentials, smart-locker assignment for dedicated-desk members, and guest-pass workflows for day visitors. We integrate the access platform with member-management software such as Cobot, Nexudus, Andcards, OfficeRnD and Wun via documented APIs, so a paid membership automatically provisions credentials and an expired membership de-provisions them — payment-on-membership becomes the access source of truth. For multi-location operators we configure the same mobile credential to work across every site in the membership tier, with audit logs per location. Hardware-side we install cloud-managed access platforms (Brivo, Openpath, Kisi, Genea — covered on our dedicated pages), smart lockers, and where required mag-locks, electric strikes, request-to-exit devices and break-glass units in line with ADMCC fit-out submissions. Honest scope: we are an installer and configurator working for the co-working operator as our commercial client; we are not a co-working brand, a member-management software vendor, and we are not a Channel Partner or Authorised Distributor of WeWork, Regus, AstroLabs, Cobot, Nexudus, OfficeRnD, Wun or any access-platform manufacturer except Control4 (a separate residential category). Where members enrol biometrics for any door, template data is sensitive personal data under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 and we configure on-device template storage where the hardware permits, encrypted transmission and a documented retention schedule that the operator owns. Geographic scope for ADMCC-regulated electronic security work is Abu Dhabi Emirate and Al Ain only.

Capabilities

What we configure for co-working access

Mobile-Credential Access

Issue mobile credentials via the operator's member-management app so a paid membership unlocks the doors entitled by the tier — hot-desk floor, dedicated-desk zone, private-office suite or meeting-room cluster — with card credentials as backup.

Tier-Based Door Schedules

Map membership tiers onto reader groups and time schedules — basic members get office-hour access, premium members get 24x7, day-pass holders get a single-day window, and meeting-room bookings unlock the specific room for the booked slot.

Member-Management Integration

Wire access control to Cobot, Nexudus, Andcards, OfficeRnD or Wun via documented APIs so payment-on-membership provisions credentials and lapsed payments de-provision them automatically, with audit trails for each event.

Multi-Location Roaming

Configure a single mobile credential to authenticate across every site in the operator's network where the membership tier permits — same app, same credential, location-aware permissions, per-site audit logs and per-site occupancy reporting.

Implementation scope and checklist

From hot-desk floors to 24x7 private-office suites, we configure access platforms, smart lockers and guest-pass workflows to match how your co-working operation actually sells memberships. Call +971 55 651 7843 or request a free co-working access consultation.

  • Site survey of every controlled door, lift, turnstile and locker bank
  • Mapping of membership tiers (hot-desk, dedicated, private office, premium) to reader groups
  • Mobile-credential rollout via member-management app with card-credential backup
  • Cobot / Nexudus / Andcards / OfficeRnD / Wun API integration to provisioning workflow
  • 24x7 vs office-hour schedules per tier with public-holiday calendar
  • Smart-locker assignment for dedicated-desk and private-office members
  • Guest-pass / day-pass workflow with reception or self-service kiosk
  • Kitchen, phone-booth, printer-area and meeting-room access by booking
  • Multi-location credential roaming across sites in the operator's network
  • Per-site audit logs, occupancy reporting and incident export
  • On-device biometric template storage where hardware permits
  • Handover documentation, operator training and manufacturer warranty documents

Delivery

How we deliver the configuration

Survey and Tier Mapping

Walk every floor, list each controlled opening, and document the operator's membership tiers and access rules so the configuration mirrors how memberships are actually sold and renewed — no over-permissioning, no orphaned credentials.

Hardware Installation

Install readers, mag-locks, electric strikes, request-to-exit devices, break-glass units, smart lockers and lift-access controllers in line with ADMCC fit-out submissions and the building's existing fire and egress strategy.

Software Integration

Connect the access platform to the member-management system via documented APIs, configure tier-to-door mapping, schedules and guest-pass flows, and test provisioning and de-provisioning end-to-end before go-live.

Handover and Support

Provide operator training for the front-of-house team, written runbooks for credential issue and revocation, manufacturer warranty documents for every device, and a documented escalation path for incidents and door faults.

Scope — what we deliver and explicitly do not

Co-working access touches member software, payment workflows and ADMCC-regulated electronic security. Our scope is precise so operators know exactly what we own and what remains with their software vendors, landlords and legal advisors.

  • We deliver: ADMCC-approved installation and configuration of cloud-managed access control, mobile-credential rollout, smart-locker assignment, tier-to-door mapping, member-management API integration, multi-location roaming setup, guest-pass workflows and operator training across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
  • We do not deliver: co-working brand licensing, member-acquisition marketing, membership pricing strategy, lease negotiation, fit-out architecture, F&B operations, community management or the day-to-day running of the co-working venue.
  • We are not: a Channel Partner, Authorised Distributor or Authorised Reseller of WeWork, Regus, AstroLabs, NEXTSpace, A4 Space, Letswork, Cobot, Nexudus, Andcards, OfficeRnD, Wun, Brivo, Openpath, Kisi or Genea — we hold no manufacturer credential of our own and it sits in a separate residential category.
  • We are not affiliated with: WeWork, Regus, AstroLabs, Cobot, Nexudus, OfficeRnD, Wun or any authorised co-working space distributors in the UAE.
  • Geographic scope for ADMCC-regulated electronic security work is Abu Dhabi Emirate and Al Ain only — SIRA-regulated work in Dubai is delivered through SIRA-approved partners, with Emirtech coordinating; we do not take work in other emirates.
  • Where biometric enrolment is used at any door, template data is sensitive personal data under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021; we configure on-device storage where hardware permits and document retention, but the operator remains the data controller.
  • We are not a 24/7 SOC operator, an ISO 27001 / NESA / ADHICS certified entity, or a labour-law or PDPL legal advisor — those obligations remain with the operator and its advisors.

The result is a co-working venue where membership tiers, payment status and physical access stay in lockstep, with documentation the operator can hand to a new community manager on day one.

Common questions

FAQs

Which co-working member-management platforms can you integrate access control with?

We integrate cloud-managed access platforms with Cobot, Nexudus, Andcards, OfficeRnD and Wun via documented APIs so paid memberships provision credentials and expired memberships de-provision them. Where an operator uses a less common platform, we scope the integration against its published API before quoting — if no API is available, we document the manual provisioning workflow instead.

Can the same member credential work across all of our locations?

Yes — cloud-managed access platforms support multi-site credentials, so a member's mobile credential or card can authenticate at every site where their tier permits. We configure per-site permissions, per-site audit logs and per-site occupancy reporting, and we test roaming end-to-end before go-live so members do not have to re-enrol when they visit a sister venue.

How do you handle 24x7 access for premium members versus office-hour members?

We map membership tiers to reader groups and time schedules in the access platform — basic members get a configured office-hour window, premium members get 24x7, and meeting-room bookings unlock the specific room for the booked slot. Public-holiday and operator-defined closure calendars override the standard schedule so nobody enters during a planned closure.

Are you an Authorised Partner or Reseller of WeWork, Regus, Cobot or the access-platform brands?

No. Emirtech Technology is an ADMCC-approved electronic security installer and configurator. We are not a Channel Partner, Authorised Distributor or Authorised Reseller of WeWork, Regus, AstroLabs, NEXTSpace, A4 Space, Letswork, Cobot, Nexudus, Andcards, OfficeRnD, Wun, Brivo, Openpath, Kisi or Genea. We hold no manufacturer-level credential of our own in a separate residential category.

What happens to biometric data if we enrol members at the door?

Biometric template data is sensitive personal data under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021. Where the access hardware supports it, we configure on-device template storage so templates do not leave the reader, configure encrypted transmission for any data that does, and document a retention schedule. The operator remains the data controller and is responsible for member-facing notices, consent and lawful basis.
