How does Emirtech support architectural and engineering consultancies in Abu Dhabi?

Emirtech Technology is an independent IT integrator (ADMCC-approved for security systems), established in 2018, that can support Abu Dhabi architectural and engineering consultancies from our office at M44, Mussafah Industrial Area, Abu Dhabi. For AEC consultancies — architectural firms, structural/MEP/civil practices, and urban planning studios — we design and operate the production IT estate the drawing-office actually depends on every working day. That typically includes CAD and BIM workstations tuned for Revit, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Tekla, Bentley OpenBuildings, Civil 3D and Robot Structural; a 10 Gigabit Ethernet backbone to the workstations and the project NAS so large Revit central files, point clouds and federated coordination models open without copying delays; multi-TB project-archive storage with snapshots and an enforced folder taxonomy; Autodesk, Bentley and Trimble licence-server networking with reliable name resolution and reservation; and 3-2-1 backup of live projects and the drawing archive with at least one off-site copy. We add Microsoft 365 with conditional access and MFA, EDR on every endpoint, ADMCC-approved IP CCTV around the office and drawing-archive room, biometric or card access at the archive door, IP-PBX for the practice's extensions (lines and numbers come from du or e&, and Emirtech is not a telecom licensee), and a separate client Wi-Fi for visiting consultants and clients in meeting rooms. We are a vendor to the consultancy: we are not DMT Abu Dhabi licensed, not Society of Engineers UAE registered, not an Autodesk, Bentley, Trimble, Graphisoft or Nemetschek reseller, and not a 24/7 SOC operator. We are not ISO 27001, SIRA, NESA, ADHICS, PDPL or SOC 2 certified, and we have no affiliation with Aldar, Modon, Masdar, Mubadala or any specific developer or AEC firm. Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are our priority areas, and in Dubai: IT AMC and time attendance by scheduled on-site visits, gate barriers, ANPR, video intercoms and turnstiles by Emirtech itself, and CCTV, alarm and access control through SIRA-approved partners, with Emirtech coordinating; we do not mobilise to Sharjah or the Northern Emirates. We do not hold SIRA approval; SIRA-regulated security work in Dubai (CCTV, alarm and access control) is delivered through SIRA-approved partners, with Emirtech coordinating. Engagements begin with a free site survey of the studio, the server room or comms cupboard, and the existing drawing-archive arrangement, after which we issue a written, line-itemed proposal with realistic timelines. AEC consultancy IT capabilities

What we deliver for AEC consultancies

CAD and BIM workstation fleet

Specification, procurement support and deployment of workstations sized for Revit, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Tekla, Bentley OpenBuildings, Civil 3D and Robot Structural. Standardised images, GPU drivers, central file paths, plot styles and family/template libraries to keep the studio consistent.

10GbE backbone and project NAS

10 Gigabit Ethernet between workstations, the project NAS and the licence/file servers, structured cabling to Cat6A, managed switches with VLAN separation for studio, admin, CCTV and guest traffic, and a NAS sized in multi-TB tiers for live projects and the drawing archive.

Licence-server and Microsoft 365

Networking and reservation for Autodesk, Bentley and Trimble licence servers so seats are released cleanly, plus Microsoft 365 mailboxes with MFA, conditional access, SharePoint document libraries for client deliverables and a backup of M365 mailboxes and OneDrive.

Drawing-archive backup and security

3-2-1 backup of live projects and the archive with versioning and an off-site copy, EDR on every workstation and server, ADMCC-approved IP CCTV around the office and archive room, biometric or card access at the archive door, and a separate client Wi-Fi for meeting rooms.

A studio IT partner that respects deadlines and the drawing archive

Drawing deadlines do not move because the licence server lost the network or a Revit central file refused to open. Emirtech treats AEC consultancy IT as a production system: we standardise the workstation build, network the licence servers properly, structure the project archive on a NAS with snapshots, and back the whole lot up on a 3-2-1 pattern with an off-site copy. Sub-segments served

Consultancy sub-segments we support

Architectural firms

Studios using Revit, ArchiCAD or Rhino for residential, commercial and master-planning projects. We size workstations, set up central files on the NAS, deploy plot servers, manage family libraries and back up the drawing archive with off-site copies.

Structural and MEP engineers

Practices running Tekla, Revit MEP, Robot Structural Analysis or STAAD with heavy analysis runs. We supply higher-spec workstations, dedicated analysis machines, network licence servers and a NAS organised for federated coordination models and clash-detection outputs.

Civil and infrastructure consultancies

Civil 3D, OpenRoads and survey-data workflows with large point-cloud and GIS datasets. We provision multi-TB storage, GPU workstations, structured backup of survey deliverables and segregated networks for site-visit laptops returning to the studio.

Urban planning and multidisciplinary practices

Mixed-software studios combining GIS, BIM and visualisation. We standardise the data taxonomy across disciplines, network the licence servers, set up SharePoint for client deliverables and configure meeting-room Wi-Fi and presentation kit for design reviews.

Scope — what we deliver and explicitly do not

Emirtech is an independent IT integrator for AEC consultancies. To keep expectations honest, here is exactly what is in and out of our scope:

  • We deliver: CAD and BIM workstation specification and deployment for Revit, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Tekla, Bentley OpenBuildings, Civil 3D and Robot Structural; 10GbE structured cabling and managed switching; multi-TB project NAS with snapshots; licence-server networking for Autodesk, Bentley and Trimble; Microsoft 365 with MFA and conditional access; EDR; 3-2-1 backup with off-site copies; ADMCC-approved IP CCTV; biometric or card access at the drawing-archive room; IP-PBX; and a segregated client Wi-Fi for meeting rooms.
  • We do not deliver: architectural, structural, MEP or civil engineering design, BIM modelling or BIM-management as a service (your in-house team or specialist BIM consultancy does that); supply of Autodesk, Bentley or Trimble software licences (purchase those from the vendor or their reseller); 24/7 staffed security operations; statutory authority drawing-submission services; site project management or main-contractor duties.
  • We are not: Autodesk, Bentley, Trimble, Graphisoft or Nemetschek partners, resellers or training centres; a 24/7 SOC operator; ISO 27001, SIRA, NESA, ADHICS, PDPL or SOC 2 certified; a certification body; DMT Abu Dhabi licensed; Society of Engineers UAE registered.
  • We are not affiliated with: Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) Abu Dhabi, Society of Engineers UAE, Autodesk, Bentley Systems, Trimble, Graphisoft, Nemetschek, McNeel, Aldar Properties, Modon, Masdar, Mubadala, or any specific AEC firm or developer.
  • Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are our priority areas, and in Dubai: IT AMC and time attendance by scheduled on-site visits, gate barriers, ANPR, video intercoms and turnstiles by Emirtech itself, and CCTV, alarm and access control through SIRA-approved partners, with Emirtech coordinating; we do not mobilise to Sharjah or the Northern Emirates.
  • Engagement model: free survey of the studio, server room and drawing archive; a written, line-itemed proposal; staged installation that respects live project deadlines; documented handover; and an optional managed-service retainer for ongoing care.

As an independent integrator (ADMCC-approved for security systems), Emirtech focuses on the IT estate so your design teams can focus on the drawings, models and deliverables their clients are paying for.

Common questions

FAQs

Are Emirtech an Autodesk, Bentley or Trimble reseller?

No. Emirtech are not an Autodesk, Bentley, Trimble, Graphisoft or Nemetschek reseller, partner or training centre. We are an independent IT integrator and ADMCC-approved installer for security systems. Your consultancy purchases CAD and BIM licences directly from the vendor or an authorised reseller, and Emirtech network and operate the licence servers, workstations, storage and backup that those licences run on.

Can you size workstations for Revit, Tekla and Civil 3D properly?

Yes. We size workstations against the vendor's published system requirements and against the size of files you actually work with — for example, federated Revit models with linked structural and MEP, or Civil 3D corridors with large surveys. Specifications cover CPU, RAM, GPU, NVMe storage and display, and we standardise images and drivers across the studio to avoid one-off support issues.

How do you protect the drawing archive and live project data?

We deploy a project NAS with snapshots and a folder taxonomy your team agrees, then back it up on a 3-2-1 pattern — local backup, a secondary copy, and one off-site copy with versioning. EDR runs on every workstation and server, MFA is enforced on Microsoft 365, and access to the physical drawing-archive room is controlled by biometric or card readers with ADMCC-approved IP CCTV coverage.

Do you provide internet redundancy and meeting-room Wi-Fi?

Yes. We can configure dual-WAN failover across two licensed UAE ISPs so client video calls and licence-server check-outs continue when one circuit drops. Meeting rooms get a separate client Wi-Fi network isolated from the studio LAN, with bandwidth controls so visiting consultants and client devices do not affect the design team.

Are you licensed by DMT Abu Dhabi or registered with the Society of Engineers UAE?

No. Emirtech are not Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) Abu Dhabi licensed and not Society of Engineers UAE registered. Those credentials belong to the consultancy practising architecture or engineering. Emirtech serves AEC consultancies as their IT vendor only — we design, install and operate the IT estate the practice runs its CAD and BIM work on.
